On 28 January, during an official visit to Paris, Ireland’s Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade, Helen McEntee TD, met with the French Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Jean-Noël Barrot. On this occasion, both Ministers signed and officially launched a new France–Ireland Joint Strategic Framework covering the period 2026 to 2030.
This ambitious roadmap further strengthens an already exceptional partnership between two countries united by geographical proximity, shared history, and a common vision for the future of Europe. Trade between France and Ireland now exceeds €47 billion, reflecting the depth and dynamism of their bilateral relationship.
With this new Action Plan, France and Ireland reaffirm their shared ambition to build a more competitive, sustainable, and open Europe, while deepening cooperation across key strategic areas over the coming years.
