News - Intro image

On March 18th, in the beautiful surroundings of the Cercle de l'Union Interalliée, Minister Richard Bruton TD, responsible for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation, spoke with verve and enthusiasm to the Pioneer and Corporate members of NetworkIrlande on the economic revival in Ireland.

A speech both optimistic in terms of the country's impressive growth, and prudent in terms of management of that growth.

"The renewed confidence must not make us repeat the mistakes of the past ... Ireland still has to build its position at the international level and we still have 10% unemployment...

We are still on the road to recovery and our goal is to achieve full employment by 2018 "...What has really helped us begin to recover from the crisis is the success of our companies in the export markets.

On that note, Richard Burton mentioned the excellent work of Enterprise Ireland and IDA in their implementation of the plan defined by the government and he also expressed satisfaction with the very favourable results of Tourism Ireland.

NetworkIrlande, who organised this lunch, was also thanked warmly for its role in reinforcing bilateral business relations and for its dedication to widening and strengthening the scope of these business relations.

In conclusion, the Minister welcomed the good Irish French relations and commented on his very positive meeting with his French counterpart, Emmanuel Macron.
