LUNCH AT THE RACES 4 JUNE 2018 IN PARTNERSHIP WITH ABIE & FBCC

News - Intro image

The 7th edition of “Lunch at the Races” organised annually by the FBCC, ABIE and NETWORKIRLANDE, held in the superb setting of the Hippodrome d’Auteuil, was a great success.

In his welcome address, Terry McGivern, Vice-President of NetworkIreland, after thanks for their presence to Thierry Drilhon Vice-President FBCC, Judge Bowman President of the Court of Appeal of Racing and Discipline Council of Victoria (Australia), Sinead Lonergan Director of Enterprise Ireland France, Niall Brady 1st Secretary (Economy), Jerome Mounsey 1st Secretary (Agriculture) at the Embassy of Ireland and Rowan Ainsworth Counsellor at the Australian Embassy, highlighted the common passion of the Irish, Australians and British for sport, for  racing and for France.

"Each of our nations has its Great Races: here in France in September is the famous Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe and in September 2016, we saw a first for Ireland that won the first three places! In Ireland, we have the Curragh Derby, in England the Grand National, and in Australia the famous Melbourne Cup. "

Guy de Fontaines de France Galop then shed light on the world of racing and related business.

An agreeable lunch followed in the private Katko salon overlooking the winning post. In between laying bets and watching the races, guests were able to exchange, and much networking was done.  A private guided visit of the paddock and grounds concluded this day of business and fun, which, judging from numerous comments, was greatly enjoyed.

A big thank you to ABIE who this year took charge of organizing this event and to our friend and partner Guy de Fontaines for his informative presentation of France Galop.
