News - Intro image

The 2017 Ireland France Business Awards, held on November 23 in the beautiful salons of the Westin-Paris Vendome to celebrate the excellence of Franco-Irish business relations, were a great success.

Before some 170 executives and business leaders from France and Ireland, the winners of the best Irish company in France, Amarenco, the best French company in Ireland, Axway and the special Award for Positive Impact on Climate Change, Transdev Ireland, received their Awards from Ms Helen McEntee T.D., Minister of State for European Affairs, in presence of the Ambassadors of France and Ireland, H.E. Stéphane Crouzat and H.E. Patricia O'Brien, respectively Honorary President of the FICC and NetworkIrlande, the President of NetworkIrlande Richard Dujardin, CEO of Transdev France and the President of the FICC Joanne Grant, Managing Director of JCDecaux Ireland.

On this occasion, Minister McEntee stressed how important it is for Ireland, in view of Brexit, to increase its trade with the European Union.

“Ireland is an open, modern and outward looking economy that is at the heart of Europe.  Our future is within the EU and it is vital that we continue to develop our links with our friends and neighbours in Europe.  Last year trade between Ireland and France stood at just under €14 billion and we need to continue to develop this relationship further.”

“Ireland faces many unique challenges especially from Brexit, but we need to ensure that we strengthen our ties with all of the EU, the destination for 38% of our exports.  I want to commend all of the businesses at the Ireland France awards and congratulate all of the winners.”
